It’s time to gather school supplies, pack backpacks, and get ready for a new school year—and Talking Book Services is ready to help make this the best year ever!

TBS provides access to over 100,000 digital audiobooks in different genres to meet students’ needs, in formats such as digital downloads through the BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) app, or via cartridges used with special audiobook players.  It is recommended that each student register for their own account for ease of access via any smart device.

In addition to serving blind and visually-impaired students, our resources are also available to anyone who has an organic or temporary cognitive disability, such as dyslexia, autism, ADD/ADHD, or impairment as a result of stroke or other injury which makes using print resources difficult.

Patrons can be certified by physicians, nurses, school counsellors, social workers, teachers, librarians, and other “competent authorities.” Fill out an application for Talking Book Services online, or call a Reader Advisor for assistance at (800) 922-7818 or (803) 734-4611.
