New Version of the BARD iOS App

NLS is releasing version 2.0 of the BARD Mobile iOS app, available for download beginning Friday, September 23. This is a major update; scroll down for details:

Updates and bug fixes:

  • More intuitive in-app search capability
    • Author names do not need to be inside quotation marks
    • Authors may be searched by Last name, First Name, or either alone
    • Keyword searches can be combined without quotation marks (example: Terri Pratchett books narrated by Nick DePinto can be searched as dePinto Terri)
    • Searches can be sorted alphabetically by author, title, or publication date
    • In-app searches now include NLS Music collection holdings
    • Ability to switch between audio and braille searches
    • Enhancements to searching and sorting Bookshelf and Get Books items
  • Bug fixes
    • Rewind controls skipping further than intended
    • Side-loading books
    • Downloading and reading non-ASCII foreign language book titles

Users should be able to update supported iOS devices by Friday, September 23rd. BARD Mobile users can confirm that they are running the latest version by checking the bottom of the app’s Settings screen.
